ACCOUNTING OFFICER
Job Overview
We are looking for an accounting officer to provide additional support to our accounting department. This is a great opportunity to be mentored, gain experience and knowledge to lead your career into a management position. As a clerk you will be working alongside the Accounts, HR, and secretarial departments. You will be in charge of providing basic office support for the day-to-day running of the company.
Skills/Qualifications
· University degree educated and part-qualified accountant.
· Working towards additional accounting qualifications is preferred.
· 1 to 3 years experience.
· Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly MS Excel.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Team-player.
· Proactive, able to self-start.
· Commercially aware.
· Ability to prioritise.
· Ability to work under pressure.
· Numerically proficient and ability to think on your feet.
Responsibilities:
· Maintaining and reviewing financial records.
· Reconcile accounts balances and bank statement, maintaining general ledger and preparation of month –end closure procedure.
· Verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling accounts payable and receivable.
· Payroll –Processing, salary package records, master file updates and ensure statutory deductions are well effected.
· Monitoring of Suppliers and Customers accounts and reconcile same when necessary.
· Daily banking statements update with receipts and ensure prompt lodgements.
